Another Crazy Internet Find/Random Halloween Thoughts

Okay, so I got a positive response from my web finds post, so I'm going to do it again.
Again, I have no idea who reads this thing, other than those who comment, there may be only 2 or 3 of you. Kinda hard to entertain when you don't know your audience.

In recognition of Halloween, here is how to survive an alien attack, in case some show up at your door asking for candy:

We've told our friends who live in the area who wanted to come to our house trick or treating that we only give candy out by appointment. We figure if we had kiddos who were out accumulating massive amounts of candy, it would be fair for us to hand out treats. As that is not the case, and no one is giving us JACK SQUAT in the way of candy, excepting the stores who sell it to us (and that's not giving anyway), we're boycotting the tradition.
I told that to one of my clients today and she said, "Well, it's better to give than to receive." I this case, I feel that nice thought is irrelevant. My sister sent me a Halloween political cartoon last year:

Get your own candy!
We give out more cookies throughout the year than we can count (as in most of the cookies produced in the household are not destined for the residents thereof), so giving individually wrapped goodies to strangers who just show up with strange outfits is not gonna happen. So there. I may go as far as putting a sign on the door stating "Candy by appointment only" but that may invite some to hurl unborn baby chickens at my residence. I think we'll just not turn on the porch light.
Have a happy weekend and if you give out candy to everyone, you are nicer than me.

I was born and raised in Utah, but then, after marrying the most wonderful woman in the world, packed up and moved to Texas. We love it here and have often told people it would take an act of God to move us from this place!
