Still Here!

I haven't had a whole lot to say, so therefore, the blog has gone silent. I'm sure the 5 of you who read this thing have been wondering if I had been blown away by Hurricane Ike. We only got a few light showers here, and a little wind. Houston got hosed (bad pun, sorry), but they are about 300 miles south of where we live.
We've been busy beyond belief. We've been trying to figure out where we can go for a short, cheap vacation that will actually be relaxing. Airfare to anywhere would require us to take a loan or sell off something to afford that. Even if we decided to head to Utah, there's two problems with that: it would cost us about $1,000 (for everything), as well as, although we love all our family and friends, heading up there to see everyone is exhausting! We'd need another vacation from vacation! Any ideas on where to get away for a weekend would be helpful.
One quick thing, so that no one will think that we don't like heading to Salt Lake, I will actually be in SLC the second week in December for some training. Free Trip! I'm going to try to stay for more than the 2 day training, so I'll see a lot of you then. We're going to see if Sarah can come too (it would be more of a vacation for her, whereas I get to go to work).
Thank you to those who called and emailed asking about our safety. We love you all!

Well I am not a very grand friend! I have three friends that live in Dallas and I haven't called to check on any of them although it is probably because I knew that Dallas wouldn't see much effect from the Hurricane. . . but still!

Glad to hear things are going well and if you have a spare second while you are in town, I would love to see you!

Well its about time...cuz!
Its good to hear that you are all well. I understand a need for a vacation...of course at the wrong timing when finances are tight.
We cancelled our trip to California as a result of exactly that.
As for a place to go...if you all decide to move back to Utah...that can all be resolved. What do you think??
Better yet...what about Arizona??? We would love to have you as neighbors.

Sorry I didn't answer your call today. I was on a work call. Glad you found my text amusing. :) You've been tagged.

About Me

My photo
I was born and raised in Utah, but then, after marrying the most wonderful woman in the world, packed up and moved to Texas. We love it here and have often told people it would take an act of God to move us from this place!
