My birthday cake!

I wanted to put this up earlier, my birthday being about 2 months ago now, but didn't have our camera with us when we went to Austin where my brother-in-law lives.

Funny story about the cake: Obviously, my brother-in-law's wife (I don't know how to say that she's related to me, and it really isn't important here) is very talented in the creation of cakes. See more evidence of this below. When she asked Sarah what kind of cake she should make for me, Sarah came up with the idea that it would be fun to have a Darth Vader head cake. As Trisha (the wife of Sarah's brother) was looking at pictures of Darth Vader on the internet, her son, Michael, asked what she was doing. She told him that she was looking at pictures of what to make for my birthday cake. Michael thought for a minute, looked at his mom and said, "But that's a bad guy! Uncle Wade is not a bad guy!" So, they improvised and I got an IPod cake instead of a Star Wars character.

I've added some music to the blog, I hope you like it. If not, you can scroll down to the bottom and shut it off.

Here's a picture of the other cakes (and a very happy Michael) Trisha made that weekend.

My niece has cerebral palsy, and played on a Special Needs baseball team. Her last game was the week that we went down there. Trisha had made these cakes for the volunteers who help the kids play baseball. It was a really cool event!

That is a very cool cake. Not only should it taste good, it should sound good too, although the playlist looks sort of short.

I was born and raised in Utah, but then, after marrying the most wonderful woman in the world, packed up and moved to Texas. We love it here and have often told people it would take an act of God to move us from this place!
